Two young sisters, Jane and Lisa, are unexplainably drawn to a wintry island off the New England coast. Lisa walks the beach endlessly searching for something she knows is there, but can't remember. Jane tries to fight forces that she can't understand. It's an island girl, Alma, who discovers Lisa bears an uncanny resemblance to a sailor's wife who drowned... over a hundred years ago! As chilling winds and a brooding storm tear at a lonely summer cottage, the audience is asked to ponder a question... can the dead return to haunt the living?
